FSU football: Top 3 Boston College weaknesses that benefit the Noles
By Kelvin Hunt
Run Defense Isn’t Good
FSU football has rushed for 160 yards or more in seven of their 10 games. They’ve rushed for over 200 yards in five games, and the only defense to hold FSU under 100 yards rushing with Jordan Travis at quarterback is Clemson.
Boston College isn’t going to be the next team to do it either. The Eagles allow 4.79 yards per carry and have allowed four teams to rush for over 200 yards, including against Georgia Tech last week.
They rank No. 117 in tackles for a loss. Boston College had 17 of their 42 tackles for a loss (40 percent) came against non-Power, Five teams.
One thing I hope that doesn’t happen is FSU getting away from their running game with the success Jordan Travis had in the passing game against Miami.
Boston College is tied with Miami (No. 76) in explosive runs allowed but are stingy when it comes to explosive passing plays allowed.
They rank No. 5 nationally in passes allowed of 10+ yards allowed. Don’t get cute trying to prove Jordan Travis can pass. They should run the ball and get the win.
