Pass Rush

This aspect will determine how successful the FSU defense is Saturday afternoon. Miami can be an incredibly explosive offense, but I think they can be boom or bust quite a bit too.

Miami’s offensive line has allowed three or more sacks in four of the last five games with Van Dyke as their quarterback.

They’ve allowed at least six tackles for loss in every game with Van Dyke as their quarterback. The lowest amount was six against a terrible defensive team like Georgia Tech, but the other teams had upwards of eight and nine tackles for a loss.

The FSU defensive front will be the best they’ve faced in quite some time, so it’ll be interesting to see how much they try to max protect for Van Dyke.

If Miami’s offensive line manages to stalemate the FSU defensive front, it’s going to be a long afternoon.

However, I like FSU’s matchup there. I’ve seen Van Dyke through some bad passes under pressure, so hopefully, the FSU can pressure him into a couple of turnovers or errant throws.
