Run Defense

Miami doesn’t have a terrible run defense, but they allow 4.06 yards per carry this season. The magic number for FSU football will be 150 rushing yards.

Miami has four losses on the season, and opposing teams have run for 147 yards or more in each of those losses. One game that stands out to me is their game against North Carolina.
Sam Howell had a huge rushing game against them, and they ran for 228 yards as a team in a win against the Canes.

The biggest difference between UNC and FSU is the Noles have a much better defense.
FSU’s rushing attack is among the best in the country when Jordan Travis is the quarterback, and the offensive line has their starters in place.

If that’s the case Saturday, the Noles should have some success in the run game, which should open up some explosive opportunities through the air since the Miami defense can be leaky in both phases.

FSU has run for 199 yards or more in six of their nine games. In two of those three games, Jordan Travis didn’t play, and the other was against Clemson, one of the best defenses nationally.
