Final Thoughts

The good news is nearly every starter will return on the offensive side of the ball in 2022. The entire offensive line will return except Baveon Johnson and Devontay Love-Taylor.

Hopefully, players like Thomas Schrader can return from injury and make an impact next year. I’m sure the coaching staff will look for one or two offensive linemen in the transfer portal.

FSU fans need to understand the offense cost this team 2-3 wins in 2021, and the defense will likely regress as they will probably lose three of their best defensive linemen after the 2021 season.

FSU will need to put up points in 2022, and they will need to do it from a balanced attack. It’s great to run the ball effectively, but if you can’t pass the ball, the chances of beating good to elite defenses are nearly zero.

There’s a reason why NC State and Pittsburgh beat Clemson’s defense this year. They had quarterbacks that could throw it and receivers that could catch it. I believe receivers will try harder to block and get open if they know they might get more than one pass in their direction per game.

Yes, the offensive line needs to improve, but better quarterback play can help hide their deficiencies too.

The QB room has to improve, and the best way to do that is by bringing in an experienced QB with one year left to play(provided their are a good fit, etc). That forces Jordan Travis to compete and improve, provides experienced depth, and may the best man win.
