Akeem Dent

One player that’s been missing in action is Akeem Dent. However, starting safety Sidney Williams out for the game meant Dent would see a lot of playing time Saturday afternoon.

Dent finished the game second on the team with nine tackles (five solo), one pass defended, and QB hurry on a third-down blitz that forced Clemson to punt.

He made his presence felt on the first Clemson possession as he came up and made a huge 1-on-1 tackle against running back Will Shipley on third down to prevent the first down.

Dent wasn’t perfect in the game but played well considering, he hasn’t seen the field much as of late.

The coaching staff mentioned Dent’s play during their press conference Monday, which is a good sign they believe he can be an important part of the defense in the next four games if he can stay healthy.
