FSU football continued its positive momentum with its third consecutive win Saturday over UMASS.

The 59-3 win was the most lopsided score against an opponent we’ve seen in quite some time.

One of the things I questioned going into the game was the team mindset after Mike Norvell called them out a couple of times for inconsistent practices since their last game against North Carolina.

A Travis Jay fumble on the opening kickoff didn’t give FSU football fans anything to cheer about, and a drop from Ontaria Wilson on a pass near the end zone gave fans the here we go again feeling.

However, the Noles went on to score on the drive, and it was smooth sailing from that point. The FSU offense scored on every possession in the first half to take a 38-3 lead into halftime.

FSU averaged a robust 9.76 yards per play on offense and allowed 3.95 yards per play on defense.

Jordan Travis ran too much to my liking early in the game but played smart by getting out of bounds without taking too many massive hits. The Noles only had three penalties for 41 yards, which continues a string of games with a small amount of penalties.

Here are my three major takeaways from the game.
