The 2022 FSU football recruiting class decreased with the de-commitment of 3-star offensive lineman Aliou Bah Saturday night. It was a move that comes as no surprise to FSU football fans or the staff.

I wrote about the staff extending new offers recently, and it’s a by-product of the staff’s awareness of some commits likely going elsewhere. Bah was the first offensive lineman to commit to the Noles in the 2022 recruiting class.

A four-star recruit at the time, Bah committed to the Noles on May 7th before the NCAA recruiting dead period lifted. He visited the Noles on June 5th and officially visited on June 11th. However, the recent trend for Bah has been towards the Georgia Bulldogs.

Bah officially visited Georgia on June 18th and visited again on October 2nd. Bah is the No. 360 player overall, No. 39 offensive tackle, and No. 49 player in Florida. He was the second-highest-rated offensive tackle in the recruiting class behind Que’shon Sapp.

Overall Thoughts

Bah is a talented player with upside, and that’s hard to come by with offensive linemen. However, the coaching staff did a good job loading up on offensive line commits early, knowing the numbers would work themselves out.

They have five commits with three targets remaining this recruiting cycle. If they can get two of the three commits, they’ll be in great shape at the position.

It’s good Bah announced the de-commitment as that provides clarity for the coaches to officially move resources towards other targets. The de-commitment gives the Noles 17 commitments total, and they can take up to 32, including players from the transfer portal.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see the staff target a couple of offensive linemen in the portal, which would give the players in this class some time to develop before playing too early.
