FSU football: 8 players deserve Tomahawk Stickers after UNC win
By Kelvin Hunt
Jordan Travis
Jordan Travis played out of his mind against North Carolina. He completed 11 of 13 passes for 145 yards and ran for 121 yards on 14 carries.
If you looked up the word efficiency in the dictionary, his picture would be beside the word right now. More importantly, he didn’t take a ton of punishment, and probably the hardest time he got hit was on a late hit that drew a personal foul flag.
I’ve been critical of Travis at quarterback, but it was more of how the coaches used him than him playing the position. He’s been able to play the entire game for two straight games, which has been critical to their success.
However, the coaches have finally started playing to his strengths, which is use his legs or the threat of his legs more than trying to make him a drop-back passer.
It’s a fine balance doing and trying to keep him healthy because he does get nicked-up from his style of play.
However, his confidence is at an all-time high, and I think that’s likely because he knows he isn’t coming out of the game at any point unless he gets hurt.
If he can stay healthy and continue to play at or near this level? FSU could win 3-4 more games.
