Robert Cooper, Malcolm Ray, Keir Thomas, Fabien Lovett

I put all of these guys together because everything they did in the game doesn’t show up in the stats.
The defensive line had their way with UNC’s offensive line for much of the afternoon. It was an area I wrote about where the Noles would have an advantage.

They forced Sam Howell to move and use his legs a lot while the UNC offensive line held them all game.
These four players accounted for 10 tackles, two tackles for loss, and a QB hurry.

They helped hold the North Carolina rushing attack to 121 yards on 25 carries. This unit played without Dennis Briggs Jr. and his backup Jarrett Jackson.

It was the most extensive play for Malcolm Ray in his career, and Keir Thomas isn’t close to 100 percent. Fabien Lovett played as a man possessed, and it showed in the film.

Their stats would have been more impressive if the referees didn’t swallow their flags so much when they got held on plays.
