FSU football: 3 key moments in ‘Noles win over UNC

Final Thoughts
I think these players have finally embraced the concept of playing as a team. Do they still have a long ways to go?
Yes, because there were still lots of mistakes that need cleaning up. However, there’s tangible evidence of improvement over the last couple of years, despite the 2-4 record overall. We’ve seen fewer penalties, less celebrating, less free-lancing, and more teamwork.
The coaches have done a much better job of playing to their strengths since the Wake Forest game, and the players have done a great job of executing and playing with great effort since the second half of the Louisville game.
Not only that, but this team has dealt with a lot of injuries during the first six games, and some of those guys will have an opportunity to heal during the bye-week, and the coaches will have some great footage to dissect for the current players.
That footage has set new expectations that because they have demonstrated what they are capable of. I think of it as a parent with a child that’s routinely gotten C’s on their report card, finally making the honor roll.
At that point, it’s like you’ve shown me what’s possible, now go out and continue doing it.
