FSU football: 3 key moments in ‘Noles win over UNC
By Kelvin Hunt
Jarrian Jones Interception
FSU scored their first touchdown, and the defense got a quick three-and-out, with FSU scoring their second touchdown on three plays when Jordan Travis scampered for 53-yards.
However, North Carolina’s next possession that ended in a Jarrian Jones interception in the end zone might have been the play that made everyone believe a win was possible.
North Carolina had moved the ball 45 yards on seven plays when Sam Howell went deep to the end zone, but Jarrian Jones did a great job staying inside the receiver and getting his head around to find the ball to intercept the pass.
That’s something the ‘Noles defense has struggled with in recent years, and it gave the defense their second consecutive stop to give the offense the ball.
The offense promptly went on an 80-yard eight-play touchdown drive to give the Noles a 21-10 lead. FSU had been in a similar position in last year’s game, and we saw North Carolina storm back in the second half.
That leads me to arguably the most important moment in the game.
