FSU football upset the North Carolina Tarheels 35-25 for the second straight year as double-digit underdogs. Sophomore quarterback Jordan Travis used his arms and legs to dominate the North Carolina defense after a slow start.

The Tarheels gained an early 10-0 lead in the first quarter before the Noles roared back with 21 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 21-10 lead into halftime.

North Carolina got on the board first in the third quarter with a touchdown drive after a three-and-out from FSU to cut the lead to 21-17.

However, the FSU offense answered with back-to-back touchdowns on their next two possessions to push their lead to 35-17.

North Carolina marched 70 yards down the field on nine plays, but the FSU defense forced a turnover on downs early in the fourth quarter after North Carolina had first and goal at the FSU five-yard line.

The FSU offense got a couple of first downs while deep in their territory and used a lot of clock to put the game out of reach as North Carolina scored a late touchdown in garbage time.

Jordan Travis finished the game 11 of 13 for 145 yards and three touchdowns. He also had 121 rushing yards on 14 carries. Ontaria Wilson had a big day with three receptions for 38 yards and two touchdowns.

Treshaun Ward and Jashaun Corbin had strong games on the ground. Ward finished the game with 77 yards on 12 carries, and Corbin finished with 52 yards on 13 carries.

This game was huge for the Noles as they go into the bye-week winning their last two games. The bye-week will allow an injury-ridden team time to heal with a good shot to win their third consecutive game against UMASS after the bye-week.

The win gives the coaching staff some much-needed momentum they can sell on the recruiting trail after things seemed to get shaky over the last couple of weeks. Be sure to stay tuned to Chopchat for more analysis of this huge win for the Noles.
