Injuries have quickly mounted, as they have done frequently in recent FSU football history, at many positions of need. This aspect affects everything around this team, which centers around only a couple (literally a couple) key players and fairly competent starters, of whom you are mainly banking on their upside.

There have been improvements before this terrible injury luck on both sides of the ball. Most notably in the trenches as the offensive line is notably better, and the defensive line has made significant strides since last season. How much of that changes with the recent Dennis Briggs injury?

The defensive backfield has many guys hobbled, out sick, or not ready to contribute and now have a limited rotation. Does the production of the defensive line deteriorate because of this? Only 21 total players played on defense for FSU football this past Saturday, but that is not a recipe for success.

The offensive line has players fighting through injuries which is admirable but shows how far the drop-off is from the first unit to the backups. What happens when one of these players faces more significant time away with an injury? Who can step up?

Not to mention, what may happen at quarterback down the line? How much faith do the coaches and the fanbase have in the production of the reserves? I find it very telling that Chubba Purdy has yet to see any game action.
The more injury luck, or rather unlucky, this team has, the more variables and questions pop up.
