Few Penalties

One thing we’ve seen FSU do is to commit multiple penalties that ultimately help beat themselves. If we’re looking for growth in the team, this is an area I’d point to Saturday afternoon.

The Noles only committed four penalties in the game for 30 yards, and one of those early in the game was questionable at best(the personal foul call on Brendan Gant).

I know Gant likely should have not touched the quarterback since it appeared he was going out of bounds, but the quarterback was in-bounds when he shoved him out.

Other than that, I think there was a false start and an ineligible guy downfield or something called. There wasn’t a rash of penalties that cost them(other than the Gant penalty that did happen on third down).

I know it’s sad to think we’re at a point where we’re looking for minuscule things to measure success, but it’s doing the little things like this that will ultimately help turn things around.

This aspect is something we need to continue to see in future games.
