First things first, the Louisville Cardinals do not have a good defense. Their defense hasn’t been good or decent since the 2016 season, and it looks like the 2021 version will allow that trend to continue.

Granted, they have faced two good offenses in their first three games. The over/under points total for Saturday’s game sits at 61.5 points, which implies a score of 32-30. Oddsmakers believe the Noles could score 30 points against Louisville.

They felt the same way about the Noles last week against Wake Forest because the over/under was around 62. FSU only scored 14 points but got into the red zone two more times, only to turn the ball over six times in total.

That probability of that many turnovers happening again is small, coupled with several red flags on the Louisville defense, leads me to believe the Noles could come to life against the Cardinals Saturday. I know what you’re thinking.

What does the offense coming to life mean exactly? Does that mean they win the game? It’s not out of the realm of possibility, because after all, the Noles are only +1.5 betting underdogs.

I know casual bettors see the Noles are 0-3 with losses to Jacksonville State and Wake Forest and think the Louisville betting line is a sure-win.

I would caution any bettor, that when the line looks too good to be true, that’s usually the case. Here are three reasons why the ‘Noles offense could come to life against Louisville.
