Fourth Down Conversions

I bring up fourth-down conversions because we can expect Scott Satterfield to go for these when other coaches would likely punt the ball.

It’s a mentality the Noles need to prepare for going into the game that just because they get a stop on third down doesn’t necessarily equate to Louisville punting.

The Cardinals have already had 10 fourth-down attempts in three games, converting six of them. It doesn’t matter where they are on the field with Satterfield playing the percentages. Louisville went tried to convert three fourth downs against UCF.

They went for it on fourth and one on their 44-yard line on their first possession of the game. They went for it on fourth and four on their 46-yard line.

They went for it fourth and four on the UCF 37 yard-line. The Noles have struggled to get off the field on third downs, allowing teams to convert 43 percent of the time.

It’ll be crucial for the defense to win on the early downs to stay out of short fourth-down conversion opportunities.
