Quarterbacks

I said it on the Built For Playmakers Podcast and wrote about it last week. FSU football has to go with one quarterback and stick with them unless they physically can’t play. The problem is Jordan Travis is injury prone, and McKenzie Milton may not be able to practice each week to form a game plan around.

Do you go with one of those two guys as the starter, or is it time to turn to a young player like Chubba Purdy? Purdy isn’t a statue back there and has a strong arm. McKenzie Milton isn’t going to be at FSU next year, and Jordan Travis isn’t the quarterback of the future.

I know Mike Norvell double-downed on playing Milton and Travis in the future as they have been, but that’s a recipe to get what we’ve been getting from the offense. That’s 10 turnovers through three games and the inability to sustain drives to help keep the defense off of the field.

I know the defense has its issues, but I guarantee they would seem like a better unit if they got some help from the offense. All we have to do is look at the Notre Dame game. The offense gave them some hope they could score, and they played well aside from a couple of plays in that game.
