A Couple of Plays Away

I know FSU football fans don’t want to hear it, but the Noles are indeed a couple of plays away from a 2-0 record.

If a tackle happens on the Jacksonville State QB in the end zone instead of whiffing, the Noles win that game, and the final play never happens. If a bad snap on third down never happens against Notre Dame, that game my not ever go to overtime.

This FSU football team has enough talent to roll Wake Forest if they don’t beat themselves. They have the better defensive line, and Wake Forest’s defensive line hasn’t looked too formidable against inferior competition.

I understand FSU had injuries on the offensive line that could make things less ideal, but that could be something Mike Norvell and Kenny Dillingham can scheme around. This game all comes down to game planning and execution.

The latter is something FSU struggles with, that goes back to knowing your personnel. Kenny Dillingham said the teams had penalties almost every time they tried to go deep against Jacksonville State.

Maybe it’s time to call the plays they do best over and over until Wake Forest proves they can stop it? Isn’t that what opposing teams have done against FSU football the last few years?
