Wake Forest Lacks Pass Rush

What’s one thing that has hampered the FSU offense this season? Defenses touching FSU quarterbacks through two games, but most of the damage took place against Notre Dame.

Jacksonville State didn’t record a sack and only had five QB pressures in the game. If we turn our attention towards Wake Forest, we’ll see they don’t have impressive stats, even when accounting for playing teams like Old Dominion and Norfolk State.

Wake Forest has generated only five sacks, and five QB hurries through the first two games against the lackluster competition. I’m sure there is a degree of remaining vanilla and not showing any exotic blitzes because they didn’t need to against those teams.

However, I also expect Wake Forest to rush 3-4 while dropping others into coverage and try to force the FSU offense to execute drives down the field. If FSU can avoid shooting themselves in the foot with penalties, I think they can stay ahead of the chains and find success in the quick screen and run game
