FSU football suffered the worst loss in program history Saturday night against Jacksonville State. The fans are irate, and deservedly so, but much of the anger is in the wrong place. I saw some people ignorantly trying to use the loss to defend Willie Taggart or wishing to bring Jimbo Fisher back, who scored all of 10 points against Colorado Saturday.

Fisher wasn’t going to get the Noles back to an elite program, and the same goes for Willie Taggart. I’m not sure Mike Norvell is the guy either, but I believe he has gotten this program to a point where things are fixable.

As bad as people want to blame Adam Fuller for Saturday’s loss, the loss has much more blame on the offense than anything else. The defense has shown improvement through the first two games compared to last year.

The offense looked solid against Notre Dame, but Mike Norvell and the coaching staff got caught trying to experiment during a game without having control of the game. The first offensive possession was great as the Noles called five consecutive successful plays, and would have scored a touchdown if Keyshawn Helton didn’t drop a dime from McKenzie Milton.

However, things changed on offense after that possession, and the team never recovered. Here is how Mike Norvell can overcome the disaster from Saturday night.
