Final Thoughts

It’s not one of the five things listed, but I’d also like to see the Nole avoiding turnovers. There is a luck component to turnovers, but making good decisions can help limit those as well.

The Noles are not good enough to overcome multiple turnovers, and that’s been evident over the past few seasons.
If they can limit turnovers and make adjustments to the five things listed here, I think they can be a top 25 football team, as long as they remain healthy.

A game like Jacksonville State is a good barometer to see where this team is mentally and emotionally. It’s not uncommon to see a team in FSU’s shoes go through the motions against Jacksonville State after playing Notre Dame how they did.

If they come out looking sharp and with the same intensity on defense? That’s a testament to the coaches and their preparation of the team. I’d likely adjust my win projections a tad because I’d expect them to do the same for an important conference game like Wake Forest the following week.

I understand JSU will be a home game, and Wake Forest will be their first road game in a sleepy environment. However, I trust this coaching staff to have them prepared for that moment.
