Treshaun Ward/Lawrance Toafili

The FSU running game looked great Sunday night, particularly in the second half, and it was without the benefit of Jordan Travis using his legs.

I’m foreshadowing as we’ll see another running back later, but Treshaun Ward and Lawrance Toalifi were impressive against Notre Dame.

Ward finished the game with 76 yards on 11 carries for a 6.9-yard average.
Toafili saw more limited snaps but finished the game with 34 rushing yards on six carries for a 5.7-yard average.

Ward is a former walk-on that earned a scholarship this offseason, and it was well deserved. He displayed tremendous patience at times and ran with a punishing style.

Toafili is the smaller of the backs, but he ran with power and was close to breaking a couple of runs at the line of scrimmage.

Both guys had runs of near 20 yards in the game, with Ward scoring a touchdown to cut the lead to three with five minutes remaining. I hope we get to see more of these two with Jashaun Corbin in the rushing attack.
