The No. 1 thing I learned from the Notre Dame game is the competitiveness of the players on the team. In years past, if FSU football gave up a 20-yard touchdown on fourth down on an opposing team’s first possession and the FSU offense went three and out on their first possession?

The opposing offense was going to score again, and do it quickly.
Whenever we’ve seen FSU get down by two scores in years past, we’ve seen those leads balloon to 30+ points, and the offense can’t do anything to respond to the adversity.

That wasn’t the case Sunday night. The FSU defense and offense responded to adversity on multiple occasions, and that was not lost on the fans in attendance or on social media.

This team feels different than in years past. They feel like a team you want to root for because you know they can play hard for 60 minutes.

Will they give that type of effort no matter who the opponent is week in and week out?

I’m not sure, and we’ll find out Saturday night against Jacksonville State. However, it seems this team has more mental toughness and resiliency than teams of the past few seasons.
