October 2nd vs. Syracuse

Part of the reason I picked FSU over Louisville is the momentum factor. If they defeat JSU and Wake Forest, that will provide confidence as they take on Louisville. I believe wins over Jacksonville State and Wake Forest increases the team’s confidence substantially.

Then they’ll welcome one of the worst teams in the ACC to Doak Campbell Stadium in Syracuse. Syracuse head coach Dino Babers is on the hot seat, and Syracuse has less talent than FSU on the roster.

FSU should be better in the trenches and will make life difficult for whoever Syracuse has at quarterback.

The fact I don’t know who that is should tell you all you need to know. The Orange averaged 18 points on offense and allowed 33 points per game in 2020.

This should be another game where the young players can get valuable snaps to build depth towards the future.

Scoring Prediction: FSU 38, Syracuse 20

Projected 2021 Record: 4-1
