Culture

I’m not ready to say Mike Norvell has fully fixed the culture of the team yet. I need to see them in an actual game when they face adversity for the first time.

However, I think he has made drastic strides in that department. I know the coaching staff has put the players in adverse situations in every aspect this offseason.

The competition at practice has been different than in years past, and the devices that measure player workloads show a night and day story, according to Mike Norvell.

The coaches hold players accountable, and there’s an added emphasis for players to hold one another accountable.

Changing the culture of a program isn’t something that can happen overnight, but I think this is an area that’s headed in the right direction.

I think the players see the time and effort the coaches put into preparing every day and that’s carrying over to the players.

Will it carry over into actual games? That’s the million-dollar question. However, I know it has to happen at practice before it can happen in games, and it looks like we’re at least halfway there.
