Team Playing Selflessly

One of the biggest issues with the FSU football program has been their mental approach to the game.

The program has been full of players that resort to playing outside of their roles on defense when things go downhill.

Instead of playing their responsibilities, these players look to make a play, which leaves gaping holes in the defense.

Another aspect that needs to improve is the propensity to respond to adversity poorly. Mike Norvell and the coaching staff have spent a lot of time trying to prepare the players for these aspects of the game.

Reports from practice are these aspects are much improved, but there are some instances of players making mistakes when playing with emotion.

I hope we see fewer celebrations and more getting the job done and going back to line up for the next play.

I hope to see the propensity to fight back instead of curling up in the fetal position when adversity presents itself.
