FSU football Wide Receiver Depth

FSU football had one of the more talented wide receiver rooms in the nation a couple of years ago. However, injuries and poor attitudes decimated a promising room, and we saw how poor the passing game was in 2020.

Things could be looking up in 2021, and it looks like this unit has made solid strides in fall camp. Keyshawn Helton could be close to his 2019 pre-injury form, and Ontaria Wilson will likely be solid as long as he’s healthy.

Kansas transfer Andrew Parchment will probably be off and on until he’s more comfortable in the offense.

Whether or not this unit takes the next step will depend upon consistency from the younger players on the roster. Freshmen Malik McClain, Joshua Burrell, Kentron Poitier, and Byran Robinson will be tasked with making an impact.

We’ll see if Jordan Young finally becomes a contributor in 2021. Can this unit win 1-on-1 matchups? Can they get open consistently and give the quarterbacks a window to throw?

If the young guys begin to emerge, that’ll be a great sign of things to come for the future of this unit.
