Final Thoughts

I know you’re looking at those numbers like that would be a sizable jump. However, when you think about it, it’s not that far-fetched when you think of the number of missed opportunities last year.

The Noles missed six field goals, most of them were chip shots, and didn’t capitalize enough when they did get into the red zone. Usually, it was a mixture of self-inflicted wounds and lack of execution that prevented them from cashing in on those opportunities.

Think of the number of dropped passes by wide receivers last year. Those plays would have been eight to 15-yard gains but went for zero yards because of the incomplete pass when it comes to yards per play.

I think they’ll improve on the third-down conversions, but the number I’m not sure they’ll improve upon that much is yards per rush. However, Mike Norvell did have a season at Memphis where they averaged 6.37 yards per rush.

If they get anywhere near these projected numbers, they should have a decent shot of winning 6-7 games as long as the defense has a pulse. We’ll project their improvements soon based on what Adam Fuller accomplished at prior jobs.
