Avoiding Canceling of Games

I want to be clear. I don’t believe any player should take the vaccine if they genuinely don’t want to.

I understand why some players, particularly minority players, wouldn’t want to take the vaccine when we look at things historically.

It’s a sticky situation, but the players are here to get an education and play football. If players are constantly missing practice due to contact tracing, or games are canceled at the last minute because they are not enough players available?

Not only does that hurt the players(because they can’t play and get game film if they wish to play at the next level), but it also hurts the fans who pay money to travel to the games.

It also hurts the local businesses that depend on the fans to attend home games. I know many local business struggled or closed last year because of the effects of COVID.

Heck, people lost their jobs. Some media that covers FSU football and some support staff lost their jobs.

I know it seems like it’s all about money, but it’s the one thing that makes the world go around. There’s a reason why several SEC teams have already reached the 85 percent threshold.

Those teams are in a much better financial situation than FSU football. The Noles can’t afford to NOT play all of their games in 2021.

FSU players reaching the 85 percent threshold or higher would lower the chances of those things happening again drastically.
