Why Notre Dame game is perfect gamble for FSU official recruiting visits

Notre Dame Lost A Lot
Notre Dame checks in at No. 9 in the latest ESPN Power Rankings. It’s a preseason ranking, so take from it what you will.
However, the Notre Dame team that rolls into Tallahassee on September 5 will be a lot different than the team FSU played fairly tough in 2020.
Notre Dame will have a new quarterback, new offensive line, and new defensive coordinator. Do I expect FSU to win the game?
I don’t, but it’s not a game FSU has to win to impress recruits.
Can FSU win? It’s possible, and they hung with Notre Dame into the third quarter last year. FSU had some breaks to go their way early in that game, but I believe the gap isn’t as significant as last year.
It’s a perfect opportunity to get a team ranked highly in the preseason that probably shouldn’t be ranked that high going into the season.
If the Noles perform well, the coaches can point to the recruits in attendance as the missing pieces needed to get over the hump.
