FSU football: Ranking the five most important games on the 2021 schedule

Miami

The early part of the schedule will likely determine how successful the season will be for the Noles.

The Noles have lost four consecutive games to Miami. They gave them the first two wins, but Miami has dominated the Noles the last two contests.

This is a game they need to stop the win streak obviously, and it would be a good indicator to in-state recruits the Noles are on the way back to prominence.

FSU has won a couple of recruiting battles for some South Florida players this summer. A win is helpful in that regard and with future South Florida players.

A win would also take away a gam most are predicting the Noles to lose in the preseason, which means they are likely going to a bowl with a win.

A loss isn’t the end of the world as long as it’s not another blowout and the Noles make a bowl.

Some positives can be drawn from a competitive game, but we’re not in it for moral victories either.
