Addition of Kenyatta Watson

The long-term vision of Mike Norvell and this program seem to be in focus. One of the questions regarding Mike Norvell was could he make the jump to big boy football?

Did he understand what it took to play at the level coming from Memphis? The addition to Kenyatta Watson tells me Mike Norvell unequivocolly understands this sentiment.

Watson interviewed for the job Ryan Bartow earned a couple of months ago, and many people hoped Watson would get that job.

Mike Norvell doubling back and hiring Kenyatta Watson to work WITH Ryan Bartow? That’s big-time. Tons of FSU fans blasted Mike Norvell for not recruiting Florida and Georgia more in the last recruiting cycle.

Of course, Florida State should concentrate on those two states the most, but the coaching staff had to go where they have the best relationships.

Enter Ryan Bartow in Florida and Kenyatta Watson in Georgia. Mike Norvell has hired two guys with extensive ties in both states.

Tons of programs dip into Florida for talent, not to mention FSU, Florida, and Miami are already in-state. That’s not the case with the state of Georgia. It’s the premier program with Georgia Tech on the outside trying to rebuild.

The Peach State has always been prime territory for the Noles, and Watson could hold some keys to helping those roots grow back stronger and deeper.

Kenyatta Watson is a big-time hire for Mike Norvell and the program.
