Wide Receivers

FSU needs playmakers in the worst way. The coaching staff did a solid job of addressing this need in the 2021 recruiting class.

Malik McClain and Joshua Burrell enrolled early and flashed during fall camp. It’s still wait-and-see mode for Destyn Hill, the highest-rated signee in the 2021 class.

I’d put my money on him enrolling in the spring at this point, though it would be great if he could enroll this fall.

The 2022 recruiting class has three-star Devaughn Mortimer committed, who I like a lot. He has good speed, some wiggle, and exceptional hands.

The rest of the wide receiver targets begin and end with five-star Kevin Coleman and four-star Jaleel Skinner.

Those are the top two targets remaining for the coaching staff, and FSU seems to be a great position for both right now.

If they sign those two players along with Mortimer? It would be an outstanding haul with three players that complement one another.

They are also recruiting Andre Greene Jr., a four-star from Virginia, but I think that’s a long shot.
