FSU football: 6 most winnable games on 2021 schedule
By Kelvin Hunt
Wake Forest
Outside of the Notre Dame game, this might be the most important game on the schedule. This is the game I have circled that will likely determine the trajectory of the program.
It’s the first road game of the year and Wake Forest returns 86 percent of its production from last season.
They will be well-coached, but FSU should still have the edge talent-wise, despite not recruiting up to FSU football standards the past few years.
The two teams didn’t face one another last year, but the Noles let one slip away from them the last time they played in Winston Salem in 2019.
Turnovers were the difference in that game, along with FSU special teams missing a field goal. Wake Forest returns their entire offensive line and their starting quarterback Sam Hartman.
They return eight starters on defense, but they allowed 32.8 points per game last season. The key to this game will be getting stops on defense and not turning the ball over on offense.
This game is one of several toss-up games on the schedule the Noles could win if they don’t beat themselves.
