Turnovers

It’s hard for bad teams to win football games. It’s even more difficult when the offense turns the ball over nearly two times per game.

The FSU offense has 17 turnovers in nine games last season. It has been a constant for the Noles going back to the 2021 season.

Often time, the turnovers result in short fields for the opposing offense, which makes it more difficult for defenses to get stops. If that happens twice per game, that’s potentially 14 points of self-inflicted wounds.

FSU football had 21 turnovers in 2019, 26 in 2018, and 21 in 2017. That’s way too many turnovers for an offense that’s struggled the past few seasons.

Most of the turnovers can be attributed to poor quarterback play. FSU quarterbacks have thrown 13 interceptions in each of the last four seasons!

The Noles look to improve at the postion with the addition of McKenzie Milton and Jordan Travis getting a ton of experience last season.

If the offense can limit turnovers in 2021, it’ll give the team a better chance to win, especially those 50-50 games.
