FSU Football: Top 5 most important offensive players for 2021

Quarterbacks
Due to the increasing quarterback controversy, I have lumped them all together (much like I did throughout this article). I’ll start with Milton.
If he gets the nod to start, I will anticipate a drastic uptick in passing play frequency. He is much more of a pure passer, and his injury has forced him more into the pocket. It will be interesting to see if he can still be mobile enough to force the defense to still play 11-on-11 football.
Jordan Travis supplements these weaknesses and would still increase the passing game and still force 11-on-11 football. I think that even if he doesn’t maintain the starting job in Garnet and Gold, he will see a significant timeshare as a gadget/sub-package quarterback.
He is still relatively unknown, seeing as he became an emergency option, played through injuries, and limited as a passer. Norvell has said that he has seen an increase in the last category, and Travis could get healthy in the immediate offseason.
It’ll be interesting to see how the other variables, speaking of Chubba Purdy, will sort themselves out. Purdy isn’t tapped to start this year, but I would consider him a wildcard.
He missed last year via injury and is definitively behind both Travis and Miton on the depth chart. I think Purdy has the most to learn from Milton about leadership, rehabbing, and skills as a quarterback. It will also be interesting to see if he would get some playing time should injury gremlins show up.
With recruits told that they can compete immediately for the QB job, how will the players in that room start to differentiate themselves today to maintain their standing on the roster next season?
