FSU football coaches wasted no time with offensive lineman Kanaya Charlton on his official visit.

The Georgia three-star offensive guard announced his commitment to FSU minutes after offensive tackle Qae’shon Sapp.

Charlton was a player that many believed was an FSU lean for a while as there were seven 247 Crystal Ball Predictions for the Noles.

Charlton dropped the edit commitment on his Twitter account:

This announcement had to be a planned effort since the edit was ready to go minutes after the Sapp announcement. It’s a smart move with Mike Norvell to continue to boost momentum on the recruiting trail, with several recruits on campus for their official visit.

Charlton checks in as the No. 1161 player overall, and No. 57 interior offensive lineman, and No. 99 player in Georgia.

Kanaya Charlton is a massive human being, checking in at 6’5″ and 351 pounds. He holds 22 offers from schools like FSU, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, LSU, Maryland, Miami, Mississippi State, NC State, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, and others.

If you see all of those offers, that means you can toss that composite ranking out of the window. Alex Atkins continues to cook on the recruiting trail and is assembling an impressive unit of high school offensive lineman.

Now, the coaching staff can concentrate on their remaining targets like Elijah Pritchard and legacy recruit Julian Armella.

The addition of Charlton is the No. 12 commitment in the 2022 recruiting cycle. The Noles likely have room for about 11-12 more high school players, which would leave a couple of spots for players from the transfer portal.

The 2022 recruiting class consists of 10 of 12 players from Florida and Georgia. Who said Mike Norvell and the coaching staff couldn’t recruit in the two states where FSU has historically had great success?
