In-Person Evaluations

FSU coaches got a ton of players on campus before the pandemic shut everything down. However, they couldn’t evaluate players in person or travel to high schools to see guys practicing.

The Mega Camp was the first time the coaching staff could see players compete in a camp setting and evaluate.

The crazy thing is the staff had players that signed with FSU in the 2021 recruiting class they never met in person.

Some 2022 FSU football commits they had never met until last week at the Midnight Madness event.

Most of the players at the Mega Camp were not FSU caliber players, but the pandemic didn’t allow players to attend camps for nearly a year.

While there are many players ranked in the 2022 recruiting classes and beyond, there could be many quality players out there that haven’t been discovered because of the inability to compete at camps due to the pandemic.

A prime example is a player from the 2025 class picking up an FSU football offer:

It was a lot of work coming off the Midnight Madness event and hosting recruiting virtually all week. There’s a ton of football camps remaining in June, but this one should pay huge dividends for the Noles in the future.
