Maximum Exposure

The lifeblood of a football program is recruiting, and one of the most important aspects of that is getting players on campus.

There were a gazillion high school football players at Doak Campbell Stadium for the Mega Camp.

It was probably the first time many of these players had ever been on a big-time college football campus.

The Mega Camp allowed these types of players to be evaluated by many different college coaches.

Although most of these players were not FSU football caliber, it still allowed them an opportunity to experience what it’s like.

Those players will leave Tallahassee and talk about their experience at FSU. That’s always a good thing. There were several young coaches at the camp, and it’s a chance for Mike Norvell and the coaching staff to observe how they work.

The way college football coaching works, one can never have too many options, when talking about potential hires. Not only did this event do a solid for high school coaches to get their players exposure, and some potential scholarship offers.

My Twitter timeline showed players getting offers from schools all across the nation.

It also gave Mike Norvell to observe other coaches and their high school players all at one event. After all, that’s how the relationship with Mike Norvell and FSU running backs coach David Johnson began many years ago.
