FSU football: 5 Noles that could be drafted in 2022
By Kelvin Hunt
Camren McDonald
Camren McDonald is the lone westside Nole remaining from the 2018 recruiting class. McDonald was the No. 290 player overall, No. 15 tight end, and No. 39 player in California.
McDonald saw limited action before the 2020 season and only totaled six receptions while playing behind Tre McKitty.
However, McKitty’s transfer to Georgia opened things up for McDonald who tied for second on the team with 23 receptions and 263 receiving yards, and two touchdowns.
McDonald started the season strong with 10 receptions within the first two games. I thought the coaching staff could have done a better job of using him in the passing game since blocking isn’t his best asset.
Not to mention the wide receivers struggled to gain separation. McDonald has added good size while maintaining his speed.
I expect the Noles to have better quarterback play in 2021, and McDonald could be a prime benefactor. If that’s the case, he could find his way onto the radar of teams looking for an athletic tight end in next year’s draft.
