Amari Gainer

Amari Gainer came to the Noles as part of the 2018 recruiting class. Gainer was the No. 239 ranked overall recruit, No. 18 outside linebacker, and No. 39 player in Florida.

Gainer is a player that’s quietly been productive the past two years, despite playing in schemes that didn’t provide a defined role for his skill set.

Gainer finished third on the team with 69 tackles in 13 games in 2019. The 2020 season saw him lead the team with 65 tackles in only nine games while playing mostly the FOX role in Adam Fuller’s defense.

Gainer is transitioning to the inside linebacker role, which should keep him on the field more in Fuller’s 4-2-5 scheme.

The more Gainer’s on the field, the more production we should see in 2021, and this would make him an ideal candidate to hear his name called next year should he declare for the draft.
