If the defense can get enough stops against the mediocre programs on the schedule, I like their chances of getting to seven wins.
Notre Dame lost a lot from their team, so that game could be interesting, but it’s the third game on the schedule against Wake Forest that will be the barometer for me.
Missed field goals were huge momentum shifters for the FSU football program last year. Think back to the Georgia Tech and North Carolina games.
It seemed it was automatic for the defense to give up points if an FSU kicker missed a field goal or the Noles turned the ball over.
The team not responding to adversity well is one reason why the coaching staff chooses to use the transfer portal to speed up the turnaround.
These players have experience and are physically ready to play, unlike freshmen who need time to develop.
If the program can improve in these three areas, the program will see better results on the field in 2021.
