FSU football: 3 things learned about McKenzie Milton in spring camp
By Kelvin Hunt
Growing Confidence
Why was his success in the spring game the most important thing? Confidence is everything. Milton has been through the process before as a young player at UCF.
The ability to go out there with fans in the stands and execute a new offense is like a NOS boost in the Fast and Furious movies.
It gives Milton confidence in himself, but more importantly, it gives his teammates confidence he can do what he used to do at UCF while wearing garnet and gold.
Milton and his teammates will take that confidence in him through summer workouts and into fall camp.
Milton has nearly leveled the playing field with Jordan Travis in three months and seemed to have the momentum as spring camp came to an end.
If things pick up right where they left off? I wouldn’t be surprised to see Milton named the starter before the Notre Dame game.
That wouldn’t mean Jordan Travis sucks at all. Travis has shown a lot of improvement in areas he needed to improve. I’d argue he’d play too at times because he’s too explosive to keep on the bench.
As I’ve said several times in the last couple of days, FSU football has two quarterbacks that can help win games in 2021. That hasn’t been the case in forever.
