FSU football: Importance of recruiting dead period ending June 1
By Kelvin Hunt
How It Helps FSU
One of the question marks surrounding Mike Norvell was his ability to recruit at an elite level. We only got to see him and the staff operate for about three months before the pandemic.
In that time, the staff gave some glimpses into what they were capable of although they were mostly new to the area.
They were already getting tons of players to campus to observe practices and meeting with high school coaches.
There was a buzz growing in Tallahassee regarding how different things were between the current coaching staff and the previous regime.
The high school coaches gave good feedback when they attended the meet and greet events the staff conducted at different places in the state.
In the recruiting world, the term follow the visits is something you’ll hear in the recruiting industry. The more times a player visits a school, the greater the chance he commits and enrolls.
FSU is in the mix for many quality players in the 2022 recruiting class and beyond, and those who visit Tallahassee will be a great indicator of their interest level.
