FSU football: How many commits will 2021 spring game generate?
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football fans will finally get to see some football action, with the 2021 spring game taking place Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.
The game will air on the ACC Network for those not able to attend the game. Outside of seeing FSU football in action, one of the other most exciting things is the number of recruits who’ll be in attendance.
FSU football coaches have done a great job of getting players to campus during the recruiting dead period and will have a ridiculous number of blue-chip players in Tallahassee over the weekend.
How many of them will commit?
Two of the biggest recruiters among the 2022 FSU commits are already in Tallahassee, getting ready for the crazy weekend to come.
Five-star defensive back Travis Hunter and four-star quarterback Nicco Marchiol will play a big part in whatever success the Noles have with players committing.
FSU coaches are not permitted to interact with the recruits due to the NCAA upholding the recruiting dead period.
Recruits can come to the game, interact with other recruits, and explore Tallahassee and the surrounding areas and campus while in town. However, they can’t have contact with the coaches like they would under regular circumstances.
For that reason, I’m going to temper my expectations a bit, but I’d be willing to bet we’ll see at least 1-2 commitments, possibly three across one or two recruiting classes.
There will be recruits from 2022, 2023, and 2024 recruiting classes in attendance and FSU already has three commits for 2023 and one for 2024.
Recruiting momentum is real, and I’ve written about it several times. If the atmosphere is great and the players feel comfortable with what they see and feel around the program?
I don’t see any reason why the program won’t have at least one or two commitments before Monday ends at the latest.
The question is which players are most likely? Sound off in the comments section about who you think that is!
