Player Development

FSU basketball has a reputation for developing players, and RaiQuan Gray will be another player to fit that mold.

Gray came to the Noles as a three-star recruit from Fort Lauderdale that saw his production improve every year.

A player that averaged 3.9 ppg and 2.3 rebounds as a freshman to 11.9 ppg and 6.4 rebounds as a junior. His minutes played increased from 12.6 minutes as a freshman to 26.3 minutes as a junior.

FSU has players coming off the bench and never starting a game to get drafted in the first round (Patrick Williams). Scottie Barnes won ACC Sixth Man of the Year and will likely be a lottery pick in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Gray will be a player that was only a starter for one year with the possibility of getting drafted. Gray’s a smart player and moves well for his size, and I see his game translating to the NBA. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the league years from now if a team is smart enough to draft him.

It’ll be another thing Leonard Hamilton and the staff can point to as to why players should consider FSU basketball compared to other schools.
