FSU Is Reloading

As I mentioned, the Noles could have three starters returning next year, and possibly a fourth if M.J. Walker decides to come back for the sixth year.

One of the problems for FSU basketball this season was the lack of a true point guard. Well, that won’t be the case as Hamilton signed the No. 2 recruiting class in the country in 2021.

He has two players enrolling that can run the point, Houston transfer Caleb Mills and four-star Jalen Warley.

I wouldn’t put a whole lot of stock depending on a true freshman at point guard, but the addition of Mills will give the Noles and player with college basketball experience.

A true point guard will allow shooters to be more of a threat, and the Noles won’t look too stagnant on offense in a half-court setting.

I know Leonard Hamilton has been at FSU for a long time, but I like to say he was rebirthed a few years ago when he changed his offensive approach. His approach is sound when he has the right pieces, and they will have an experienced team with an actual point guard in 2021-22.

They’ll be right back near the top of the ACC and in the thick of it in the NCAA Tournament. That’s all you can ask for in college basketball.
