Michigan’s Defense Doesn’t Force Many Turnovers

The Achilles Heel for the ‘Noles offense is their propensity to turn the ball over. Many of those are self-inflicted turnovers trying to feed the ball into the post or just carelessness with the ball.

The good news for the Noles is, Michigan’s defense hasn’t forced a ton of turnovers all year. They average 4.4 steals and 4.3 blocks on the year.

Here’s the turnovers total of Michigan’s last five opponents:

  • LSU-3
  • Texas Southern-10
  • Ohio State-9
  • Maryland-11
  • Michigan State-18

I should note these games are in chronological order, and Michigan State was the last one Michigan forward Isaiah Livers was healthy.

Of course, we’ve documented what he brought to the table and how the Wolverines will feel his absence.

The Noles have better offenses than four of those teams. If the Noles can avoid turnovers and take good shots on offense, that will significantly increase their chances of winning the game.
