The consistent caveat given to the most recent blunders of FSU football has been that “they didn’t have a spring.”

Spring football is vital for a program implementing new scheme. Getting players on the field, seeing what works, and altering the game plan will be a process followed by this coaching staff until the spring game on April 10th.

Last year, in an offseason, restricted and segmented due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FSU only got three days of spring practice after adding 10 new players.

That ratio, plus around 13 more high schoolers, was plopped into fall camp, which is mainly for refinement.

Yet with a new staff, new schemes, and a roster in a major overhaul, it had to serve as a process for experimentation and preparation, the role spring normally serves.

So forgive us talking heads for diving into every little detail of this first spring under Coach Norvell to scan for glimpses of how this team could shape up in the fall.

It can be overwhelming, so I took a deep dive to tell you what you missed last week and what you need to look for in the future.
