FSU football: Nole commit Travis Hunter Jr. embarrassing the competition
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football 2022 five-star commit Travis Hunter Jr. has been ranked as a top-five player in the composite rankings for quite some time.
However, Hunter Jr. has consistently said he’s the best player in the country and has the high school stats to back it up on the defensive and offensive side of the ball.
Despite that, he still has not been moved up to the No. 1 overall ranking and seems to be taking it out on the competition at every camp or 7on7 event he participates in the action.
Travis Hunter Jr. is an unreal talent that could have started at FSU as a junior last year. I wish he could re-classify and enroll in 2021. I’m not kidding, he’s that good of a player, a generational talent.
I know you know the kid is good because you’ve likely seen some of his highlights. However, the footage from this past week does nothing but prove he deserves the No. 1 ranking.

Parting Thoughts
I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a player be so dominant on BOTH sides of the ball. FSU football fans have legitimate debates on if he should play wide receiver(he’s rated as a defensive back) in college, or play both ways.
I’ve been on record for wanting him more as a receiver than defensive back, though I think he can excel at both positions. However, I think in today’s college game, he holds more value as a wide receiver with the ball in his hands multiple times per game. 2022 five-star commit Sam McCall said the coaching staff has talked with him about playing offense and defense, so I’m sure the same has happened with Travis Hunter Jr.
Either way, I’m glad he’s committed to FSU and continues to recruit hard for the Noles on the trails.
